TribLive.com, Western Pennsylvania’s most visited news website, hosts a funded summer internship for ambitious, enterprising students interested in journalism. The TribLIVE intern works alongside a dynamic team of award-winning journalists in Pittsburgh, Tarentum and Greensburg. The Trib was named Best Overall Newspaper four of the last five years by the Pennsylvania chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The Trib's news platforms include two daily newspapers (Tribune-Review), 11 weeklies and TribLIVE.com, which receives more than 300 million pageviews a year. As a TribLive intern, you’ll have the opportunity to shadow reporters as they go about their days, whether in the courthouse or covering breaking news events. You will be given assignments to report and write several stories a week on various topics determined by your editor. The editor will work with you to sharpen your journalism skills such as interviewing techniques and how to search for public records. Applications for the summer program open in February, with a deadline in early March.
