Are you passionate about digital literacy and interested in working in education?

STEM Coding Lab, the only Pittsburgh nonprofit devoted exclusively to bringing computer science education into under-resourced schools throughout our region, is seeking Program Interns who can engage young students with foundational computer science activities. No expertise in computer science is required. We value commitment to youth development and the ability to foster a nurturing classroom environment. See attached flyer for full details.

A STEM Coding Lab Program Intern will receive a $2,000 stipend and agree to serve 15 hours per week for the entirety of June-August 2024. Compensation will be dispensed by the University of Pittsburgh payroll department. In order to receive funding, you must fit these eligibility requirements:

  • Must be an English major (including DNID), minor, or certificate student, including PPW, Children's Literature, Public Communication of Science and Technology, and Disability Studies.
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must provide internship summary, materials, and thank-you for funder at end of the internship.
  • Must not have received an English Department Internship Grant previously.
