Description

The Pittsburgh Media Partnership oversees a robust paid internship program (fall, spring, and summer semesters) in which local university students are placed with Partner news outlets for eight weeks. PMP internships are intended to give students with a serious interest in a journalism career — particularly those who are underrepresented in the industry — an opportunity to learn on the job, improve their portfolio and leverage the experience so that they can break into the industry more easily after graduation.

Candidates should be at least 18 and enrolled at one of seven Pittsburgh-area college-level institutions. The academic year internships run for one semester, and interns can work 10 to 15 hours a week for a maximum of 150 hours. Interns are paid $15 per hour. For the summer internship program, students are paid $15/hour, up to 30 hours a week for an eight-week period between late May and early August.
