Marylou Gramm

Marylou Gramm received her MA and PhD in Comparative Literature from New York University and her BA in English from Columbia University. She teaches courses in the Composition and Literature programs.
Her interests include translingual composition studies, feminist theory, race and rhetoric, and early modern literary history. You can find Marylou’s work on the politics of George Sand’s pastoral novels in Proceedings of the Eighth International George Sand Conference; her most recent article, "Dialogic Openings for Recreating English" in Translingual Dispositions: Globalized Approaches to the Teaching of Writing ed. A Frost, J. Kiernan, and S. Blum Malley (WAC Clearinghouse, May 2020) as well as articles on teaching ESL writing in The Writing Lab Newsletter and in Re: Writing (Essays on Writing and Editing) a University of Pittsburgh E-book. She is currently researching and writing about the transculturation of Pitt students from Mainland China.
