Speaker: Louis Maraj, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
This lecture offers insight into #BLM’s aim to rebuild a Black Liberation Movement through an Afrocentric Black feminist framework that pushes against ideas that Afrocentrism always already is tied to Black masculinist traditions.
Professor Maraj specializes in rhetorical theory, digital media, Black studies, and critical pedagogies (loumaraj.com). He is a co-founder of Digital Black Lit and Composition (DBLAC).
This lecture is sponsored by the Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Program (GSWS). http://www.gsws.pitt.edu/events/blm-black-feminism-and-new-afrocentrism
