Matt Kelly

Teaching Fellow

I entered Pitt’s PhD program in 2011 after completing BAs in English and Rhetoric from UC Berkeley and a MA in English from Penn State. My research focuses on the role of pedagogy in video games and gaming communities, the use of video games to critique the cultural logic of networked societies, and the affordances of integrating game-design principles or activities into the writing classroom. I have taught writing courses at the college level for more than seven years and am serving as the English department’s Digital Media Learning Coordinator for 2015-2016.
