Kim Hoover

Teaching Assistant

Kim came to Pittsburgh the fall of 2016 to receive her PhD in the Composition track of the Cultural Studies program. She moved here from Montana where she studied marginalized epistemologies and metacognition in composition pedagogy for her MA, and now she is interested in continuing research focused on the role of consciousness--and how it manifests our reality-- through rhetoric and composition. She will be taking classes across disciplines, like History and Philosophy of Science courses, to hopefully get a grasp on how both humanities and science-based epistemologies speak about the role of consciousness in communication, and the wider implications thereof.
