Join author Judith Summerfield for a special writing workshop exploring the ways that we define ourselves through the stories we tell.
Writers will explore how to draw from memory, oral stories, history, genealogy, research, family artifacts, and from their own imaginations, to write their stories.
Judith Summerfield grew up in Fredericktown, a small coal mining town in Washington County. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in English at the University of Pittsburgh, and PH.D. at New York University. Professor Emerita in English, Queens College, CUNY, she also served as University Dean for Undergraduate Education. She has received local, state, and national awards and grants for teaching, scholarship, writing, and research, including the Carnegie Foundation New York State Professor of the Year in 1998. A Man Comes from Someplace is her ninth book.
