A Conversation with Sondra Perl

March 24, 2017 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Join us for a wide-ranging public and informal conversation on topics that may include the shape of Perl’s long career in Composition; teaching and research and teacher-research; public universities, open education, and the National Writing Project; narrative as intellectual work; and/or whatever interesting tangents we end up on. Facilitated by Ben Miller.

Sondra Perl, Professor Emerita at Lehman College and the CUNY Graduate Center, has worked as a writer, scholar, and college professor for 45 years. Author of six books and many articles, she currently serves as Director of Programs at the Memorial Library, a not for profit organization committed to Holocaust studies and human rights education. A Carnegie Foundation Teacher of the Year, Perl recently received the Conference on College Composition and Communication Exemplar Award given to academics who model the organization’s highest ideals of scholarship, teaching and service to the profession.
